The veld fires resulted in quite a few casualties. This is pictures of a snake that did not make it. We asked the Snakes of South Africa Facebook group for an id, but they could not really provide one.

Post-fire evaluation / Brandskadebepaling

 Dear members 

We have had one of the most devastating fires in the Conservancy experienced for many years on Thursday 9 October and again on 17 October. We would like to express our thanks to the members of the community who fought tirelessly to save homes, grazing and other valuables.

Please send statistics of how many hectares of land that was burnt, loss of irrigation pipes, cables, buildings and vehicles to rietfontein1234 at gmail dot com as well as to the Conservancy Office.
