Another application for Prospecting Permit: IAPDue 2 July 2015

Dear members and friends,

As suspected Randquip has applied for another Prospecting Permit on Portion 6 Kaalfontein513 JR and Portion 20 Rietfontein 366JR. The area falls within the boundaries of the Cullinan Conservancy and has areas that are considered sensitive for its biodiversity and of historical value.

The proposed prospecting area falls within a Biodiversity corridor demarcated by SANBI.

This is a new application so we have to register again as I&AP.

I realize that we are all busy and cold but please for the sake of the Conservancy spend 10 minutes completing this form and sending it to mpho@ugwa.co.za and cc cullinanconserv@nes.co.za.

We lost out on Portion 45 because of the lack of interest from the community, don’t let us loose another 304.740 ha of almost pristine land rich in biodiversity to prospecting and eventually to mining.

Closing date 2 July 2015 to register as I&AP

Hoping for your co-operation

It is an Application for Prospecting Rights which is considered low impact, but once prospecting rights are granted and they apply for mining rights it becomes more difficult / impossible to stop.

Some aspects you may consider that will impact on all of us:

1. Visual Impact:

2. Traffic

3. Employment/ Social Impact

4. Biodiversity.

6. Wate, Rivers and Wetlands

7. Workers / Employees

8. Prospecting process

9. Refuse

Mynprospektering langs Rayton

PORTION 45 OF FARM KAALFONTEIN 513 JR

DMR REFERENCE NUMBER: GP 30/5/1/1/3/2/1 (10316)

If possible we have to stop this application at this stage, once it goes further to the next stage (mining license) it becomes very difficult. The farm is on the right hand side of the road on the R515 between the R104 and Rayton. Where all the Pine trees are coming up. Please register as interested and affected parties by filling in this form and sending it to  charles@ugwa.co.za and cc  cullinanconser@nes.co.za or cullinan.conservancy@gmail.com. The EMP is available at this link.
