The Brandbach appeal:
* The Appeal documentation relating to Environmental Authorisation of the Proposed Silica mine and associated development on Portion 63 of the Farm Brandbach 471JR (Ref: GAUT 002/11-12/E0088), is available for inspection at the Rayton Public Library in addition to the designated locations of the Infrasors Holdings Office at 11 Summer Street, Rivonia and at the EIMS Office at 5 Hunter Road, Ferndale, Randburg. The documentation will be available Monday to Friday at the Rayton Library starting from Tuesday 2nd October 2012 between 10h00 and 16h00.

 Remainder of Portion 10, and Portions of Portion 70 of the Farm Pienaarspoort 339 JR, to include the North-Eastern Corner of the Remainder of Portion 10 of the Farm Pienaarspoort 339 JR, to the Existing Mining Right for Delf Sand Pty Ltd in terms of Section 39(3) – (6) and 102 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resource Development Act (No. 28 of 2002)(MPRDA). Status

Delf Sand mining

  1. Pienaarspoort Ontwikkeling (Pty) Ltd holds an existing Mining Right, Ref No GP30/5/1/2/2(79)MR, for the mining of sand on a portion of portion 55 of the farm Pienaarspoort 339JR, Cullinan, Gauteng, which have been withdrawn.

  1. Delf Sand CC holds an existing Mining Right MP4/97 on the remaining portion of portion 10 of the farm Pienaarspoort 339JR. An application for conversion has been submitted to DME, Gauteng during August 2004 and this was approved.

  2. The proposed mining project involved :

    1. The mining of the alluvial sand deposit, consisting of weathered quartzite of the Magaliesberg Formation, at the south-eastern section of the proposed mining area. This is in operation.

    2. The opencast mining, by drilling and blasting, of quarsitic hardrock at the western section of the proposed mining area.

Delf Sand is starting their quarsitic hardrock operations. The location is indicated below. This will severely affect this area.
